Employment Services
Helping the people we support develop work skills and connecting them with competitive employment opportunities is a key focus at Community Services.
ACCES-VR offers several programs to help adults and youth obtain and retain competitive employment. ACCES-VR Intensive Services provide vocational counseling and rehabilitation services that result in successful employment outcomes. Youth Employment Services are geared toward assisting youth with their transition into the working world by helping them develop soft skills, obtain work experience and more. ACCES-VR Extended Services follow along Supported Employment services to employed people who are not Medicaid eligible.
Supported Employment offers the supports people need to obtain and maintain paid, competitive jobs. People with developmental disabilities often transition to Supported Employment after receiving employment services from ACCES-VR or programs that offer intensive training.
The Employment Training Program offers people an opportunity to work in an internship that will lead to permanent employment in a community business. Program participants also attend job readiness classes, receive increase job development and job coaching services, and develop other work-related skills.
Community Pre-Vocational Services addresses a person’s vocational interests. These services assist people who are interested in obtaining a job but whose skills are such that they may not expect to obtain competitive employment within the next year. Prevocational services include support and training related to the ability to obtain and retain employment.
