Agency Name Change
Agency Name Change
Our Agency has some exciting news! We are officially changing our Agency name to Community Services for Every1. We are making this change to better represent the people we support. You can view our video message below or by clicking here.
Since our Agency began, we have been committed to providing person-centered services to help people with developmental disabilities lead the most independent lives possible. We are still continuing to do that, but now our new name will better reflect this mission.
Our Agency is a place for everyone as the new name implies. We not only accept everyone as they are, but we cultivate the individual and unique gifts each person has in order to help them reach their fullest potential. By including the number “1,” we are highlighting the inclusiveness and individuality that our Agency offers to the people we support.
After hearing from many people we serve, we realized having the words “developmentally disabled” in our name and on all of our materials inadvertently tells the public that person has a disability. We wanted to change that and ensure privacy for the people we support and their families.
There are also people we support who do not have a developmental disability. Over the years, we have expanded and added integrated programs that do not require people to have a developmental disability in order to receive services.
Before we made the name change, we consulted with people we support, families, employees, Board members, and funders. All of these discussions came back to two words: Community Services. We decided to keep that part of our name because we wanted to stick to our roots and supporting people in the community is at the heart of what we do.
We have a new logo, which is similar to our old one, and a tagline: “Helping many. Discovering one.”
Minor changes made to our Mission statement simplify it while still reflecting our Agency’s same core objectives and values. It now states, “We partner with individuals of all abilities to reach their fullest potential, protecting their rights and promoting their independence and inclusion in our community.”
Although our name is changing, our goals remain the same. We have always been and will continue to be an Agency that strives to help people achieve their dreams and become more independent. It will now be better reflected with our new name, Community Services for Every1.
